I have used Happy Acres Farm as my chicken and farm sitter when I had to go out of town for an emergency. The owner asked a lot of questions so that she would know the exact needs of my animals. She was very thorough and is very knowledgeable in all areas of care taking and farming. I was very comfortable when I left because I knew that my chickens, ducks and goats were in good hands. I was gone away for 3 days and upon my return, it was obvious that my animals were well taken care of. There were no issues or problems when I returned. I will definitely use Happy Acres Farm again in the future when I have to go out of town . I have already referred them to other friends who have farm animals and are finding it difficult to leave town because they have animals.
Madeline La Marmalad (Maddy) was born in June of 2006 in Mississippi. She came to live in Louisiana, with her momma, in July of that year. She was the baby of the house and the only French Bulldog. Her new relatives were old Chihuahuas. She was a frisky good girl. One horrid day in November of 2009, she had a freak accident and became lame in her back legs. Though she can only scoot around using her front paws, her spirit was not broken. Her "Aunt Julie", at Happy Acre Farms, is her favorite person to visit when Momma goes out of town. She gets all the space her heart desires, her own bed, a bath every night, a warm gravy supper, and all the movies she wants to watch on The Animal Planet. She even gets to help Aunt Julie on the farm by herding turkeys! Momma never has to worry about Maddy when she stays at the farm and Maddy never worries about when Momma will come back to collect her!
